By MIKE WELLS | The Tampa Tribune

She should not be alive.
That's what doctors said in amazement to a Riverview woman who'd been
shot between the eyes and lived to tell about it.
The 41-year-old retail manager was shot shortly before midnight
Saturday at the intersection of Causeway Boulevard and U.S. 301 by an
irate driver, she said. She spoke today to the Tribune on the
condition that she not to be identified because the gunman has not
been caught and she fears for her life and loved ones.
The woman was in the passenger seat of her boyfriend's Ford pickup as
they headed south on 50th Street. Her 22-year-old daughter rode in the
back seat of the extended cab.
The three of them had been to a drive-in movie and stopped to get
sandwiches from Salem's shop on at 2015 N. 50th St. near Seventh
Avenue, she said.

YORK, Pa. (AP) - A 2-year-old girl died after being
beaten with a video game controller by her mother's boyfriend, police
said Tuesday. Darisabel Baez's mother overheard the beating Sunday but
did nothing until she realized the girl was unconscious, police said.
The girl was pronounced dead late Monday at Hershey Medical Center,
police Lt. Ron Camacho said.
Homicide was added to the list of charges against Harve L. Johnson on
Tuesday; he was already in jail on counts including aggravated assault
and reckless endangerment.

Education and military service
Jeremiah Wright (Behind I.V.), in 1966, as a U.S. Navy Hospital
Corpsman. He is tending to President Lyndon Johnson, for which he was
commended (see letter superimposed on photo).
From 1959 to 1961, Wright attended Virginia Union University, in
Richmond. Inspired by President John F. Kennedy's 1961 challenge to
"Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for
your country," Wright gave up his student deferment, left college and
joined the United States Marine Corps and became part of the 2nd
Marine Division with the rank of private first class.
In 1963, after two years of service, Wright then transferred to the
United States Navy and entered the Corpsman School at the Great Lakes
Naval Training Center, where he graduated as valedictorian.
Having excelled in corpsman school, Wright was then trained as a
cardiopulmonary technician at the National Naval Medical Center in
Bethesda, Maryland where he graduated as salutatorian.

A Child's View of 'Gay' Pride
Linda Harvey
The following is a work of fiction ... maybe.
One fine June morning, Dan told his wife, "I think I'll take
Derek to
the park for some batting practice." So after breakfast, the eager
6-year-old bounded off the front step, and together, father and son,
with a
ball and bat, headed toward a favorite downtown city park.
Two blocks away, Fran and her husband Fred guided their twins,
Mark
and Megan, toward the park as well. The 7-year-olds on their roller
blades
called impatiently to their parents, "Mom and Dad, come on - I think
there's
a parade up ahead!"

Imhotep,
Wow!
Mariah looks better than ever at 39.
I'm listening to this beautiful song just now for the first time.
For the life of me , I don't u nderstand why they had to use this
nerdy Bill Gates looking White boy in the video instead of some fine
looking Black man?
Is this what Black women have to do in order to get White guys like
these nuts on this forum to buy her music or what?
The idiot ruins the entire video, and the song.
They should have had some brotha like Ray J walk in the door and drop
his working tool out on her. Now that would have made some romance.

FYI,
ImHotep,
Remember my warning about this filthy activity last year?
About kissing your children on the mouth, and playing kissing games
with them like Bob Woodwards eleven year old daughter said he did with
her on the Oprah Winfrey show a year or so ago?
Here is more evidence as to why that is a dangerous behavior
If you all were half as decent as you pompously believe yourselves to
be, you would be thanking me profusely for this life saving
information instead of railing against me like some cornered Tiger in
the zoo cage.

Obama wins black, affluent white communities; pattern repeats
statewide
By David Knox
Beacon Journal staff writer

Hillary Rodham Clinton rightly credits Ohio with rejuvenating her
presidential campaign.
''You know what they say: As Ohio goes, so goes the nation,'' Clinton
told the cheering crowd of supporters in Columbus celebrating her
primary victory Tuesday night. ''Well, this nation's coming back and
so is this campaign.''
Why she won is a more complex question. The answer most often heard is
that her campaign's emphasis on the economy resonated deeply in a
state that never recovered from the 2001 recession.
