All you Mountaineer haters out there enjoying West Virginia's 1-2 start
are demonstrating that you clearly don't understand what Morgantown
football is all about.

The Mountaineers are not about winning national titles. The Mountaineers
are not about winning Big East championships. The Mountaineers do not
care about beating teams from far-away states like "Colorado" and "North
Carolina"; places West Virginians never go.

No. For the true West Virginia fan, it's all about beating Marshall.

The problem with Rich "The Product" Rodriguez is that he wouldn't even
PLAY Marshall during his first five years as head coach. Just hid from
them. You can't imagine the shame. And it's the real reason he was
finally forced to leave for Michigan and why people in Morgantown
despise him so much.

Bill Stewart, on the other hand...well, Bill Stewart understands. He
manned up and spent the East Carolina and Colorado games doing a mixture
of sandbagging and experimenting; getting ready for the big Marshall
game ahead. Oh sure, the national media and football elites look down on
him, but, hey, that's nothing new for West Virginia. And when it all
pays off next Saturday in a comprehensive rout of the Thundering Herd,
the MSM and the television glamour boys as usual will miss the point.

But the Mountaineers will know. Yes, the Mountaineers will know.

the fourth quarter. Hell, even after that interception, momentum on
Iowa's side, Jake goes three and out on pitiful plays. Those last few
series were just plain sad.


JC lost that game for Iowa, with only a little help from the bad luck
on the bounces of the punts.
