  Canadian Olympians are an Embarrassment

Author: J.C. Watts Enslin
Date: Aug 15, 2008 09:18

Honestly, as a Canadian I would rather skip the Olympics entirely
rather than witness the embarrassment that this has become. One week
in and we have yet to win a single medal.

I mean, Tajikistan has a bronze. What the hell is a Tajikistan?
Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzistan have *two* medals. Are these even real
countries? Peaceful little Switzerland has four. Us? Nothing.

I really wish I was making this stuff up. I really think our country
should seriously consider not even participating in 2012. I for one
am going to BOYCOTT the winter games in Vancouver until we agree to
pull out of the 2012 London games.

Are you with me?

  Fantuz injury

Has anyone heard anything about when Fantuz might be coming back?

At least Crandell's back it looks like (nothing against Jyles).

  Football back in Ottawa

Author: Sharpsh00ter

European football that is... Apparently the Sens owner Eugene Melnyk is
interested in bringing the MLS to our nations capital. If the MLS comes to
Ottawa Frank Claire will need a retro fit and this could bode well for the
CFL there as well...

  West vs East

Author: Roarmeister
Date: Jul 26, 2008 08:20

Hmmm, this season doesn't look to good at the moment for eastern based
teams which are 2-9 vs. the west. I know a lot of games have been
close "barn burners" and "thrillas in Manillas" and the results could
have gone either way but the early E-W record is foreboding. We
really need the eastern teams to pull up their socks if we want to
have a balanced competitive league.

Go Winnipeg! Go Montreal! Go Hamilton!

  Expansion for Mosaic Stadium

Author: Roarmeister
Date: Jul 23, 2008 22:54

Recent news articles by the local media and "unofficial" comments by
the team president and city mayor are hinting that temporary seating
will be in place within a month (prior to the Labour Day Classic). Up
to 2000 seats (complete with washrooms and concessions) in the
south-west corner of the stadium could be built (assembled) in 1-week.
That's great news for local fans as it is getting very tough to get
tickets for upcoming games. A number of the games were sold out as of
June 1st and so far this year the paid attendance has been 100%% of
capacity (28,800) for the pre-season and 2 regular season games with
10 straight complete sell-outs going back to last year.
