Your Colonel took a deliciously juicy rotund ham and used it for bait?
Would such a culinary delight entice the Anaphylactic Chipmunk out of
hiding?
WHAT THE HELL SAY YOU? THAT IS ALL!

To atheists, and most other people, it's obvious that the
existence of God is a religious belief, but to Stan, and
many other theists, that's not obvious at all.
Stan doesn't seem to see it as being a religious belief.
To him, it's a fact, and as such it is no more a religious
belief than is the fact that there are 50 states.
So, since belief in God isn't a matter of religious belief,
requiring people to say that they believe in God cannot be
religious discrimination.
To Stan, accusing BSA of discriminating against atheists
is like saying that they discriminate against people who
insist that the Scout Motto is "Be Kind, Rewind".
He doesn't care what silly notions they actually have, but
in order to be a Scout, a boy has to recite the Oath and
Motto as they appear in the manual. There are no religious
beliefs involved, simply the fact that there exists a God
to whom we owe a Duty.

When working with the boys, I protect both BSA's STANDARDS as well as
EACH individual's RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.
But to bigots like you, balancing EVERYBODY's rights isn't good
enough, and so there are some bigots like you who take the children
into court to impose your view of religion on the rest of us.

News outlets are carrying a story of a student suspended from school
for declining to participate in the Pledge of Allegiance. The two
stories below give different accounts of her reasons, but they both
derive from her personal beliefs.

I'd like to ask Stan:
Do you agree that the school had a right to exclude her from classes,
afterall she had refused to assent to "what already exists in our
culture, heritage and values"?
Or would you say that she had every right to decide for herself
whether the Pledge was compatible with her beliefs, and that she
should not be refused equal access to a public program (such as school
classes) as a result?
