This run is interesting in large measure from being over 10,000ft for the
entire distance, and although I live at around 5800ft, definitely began
noticing a difference arriving in town the day before, panting as I climbed
stairs and having some trouble getting to sleep. During the race itself I
noticed no special effects of the altitude to speak of, no headaches and the
like. The race packet even included a brochure for an 'Altolab altitude
simulator' product.

The course is completely different than the LT100, the latter covering
ground south and west of town, while SR50 took place entirely on

Hello all. I've trained and run a few marathons but have always followed a
set training program, with good results. I've started training for the
Marine Corps marathon in October and am having trouble getting my long runs
in. If I split the distance into two runs and do one in the morning and the
other later in the day will I get the same benefit from it or am I just
wasting my time?

I'll fill you in later on how the race went with me directing it. Lets'
just say less than a third of the runners survived the fall after I
mistakenly re-routed the course, and several other "occurances" have left
me as unwelcome as a race director.
I'm taking it up the arse right now, so more later.

As of 11:35 pm ET, results show an age 50-59 winner in 11:48. Yea right!

Whew am I bushed. That was rewarding as well as tiring, but worth it all.
In the end i got rich on embezzled funds, and the phone numbers of several
hot guys.
