A/B switch for ACC port on FT-817

Author: Steve Silverwood
Date: Dec 25, 2008 21:23

I was wondering if anyone knew of a source for an A/B switch for the
ACC port in the back of the FT-817. I need it because I have both an
LDG Z100 auto-tuner plus a CAT cable for computer control. Both items
to me are indispensible, but reaching back and manually swapping
cables every time I want to switch devices is a pain in the backside.

I'm sure SOMEONE out there knows where I could get such a device.
Right now I can't even find the switch, cables and connectors to BUILD
one myself, plus the fact that my eyesight is bad enough that working
on something that small is a bit difficult to do.

I'm desperate and thought I should cast a wide net.

Re:RE; Using a 230V AC to 13.8V DC in the USA

A normal storage battery (automotive) that I use as a standby is 13.8 Volts
as it is in the automobile. I also have a standby generator, but the
battery is the primary backup till the Genset starts. Anyway I have the
battery for a RCI Ranger 2950 which I use in the radio shack and another in
the mobile. 13.8 is GREAT

Whatever primary voltage (115 or 230) makes no difference, just whatever the
convertor requires.

  Eico GDO coils

Author: charrid

Would anybody who owns Eico model 710 GDO be willing to supply coil
data (diameter, length, No. of turns, wire diameter) so that I could
duplicate the coils? I bought the coil-less 710 at the fleamarket and
cannot find the coil set. I am mainly interested in the 2.9-7,5 and
7.5-18 MHz ranges. Or maybe a close-up photo with a ruler laying next
to the coils would be enough.

  Power inverter

Hi all, i purchased a 12vdc to 240vac inverter for using my laptop. it's a
300 watt model fromm Jaycar.
I asked the person running the shop if i could run my 100w IC725 from it. NO
WAY was the reply.

I was thinking of running the DSE D-3800 power supply from it when out on
contests and running the laptop and ssb hf rig from it.
I just wanted to know if it was capable of handling that (which i presumed
it would be ) as the lap takes about 60w maybe and the transmitter 100w at
times.

Anyway, if someone can please explain why a 300w inverter won't run 160w of
gear i will be very happy.

Thanks

Gary

  WTB:Motorola Watt Meter adaptor

Author: Larry McGee

Hello and thanks for the read.
I am looking to purchase the Motorola watt meter adaptor as used with the
r-2001x type service monitor. Should be part number RTL-4055A.
If you have one that you would sell for a reasonable price, please let me
hear from you.
If I find the adaptor, I could be interested in some of the ST-12xx elements
as well.
