Miss Kitty ensconced herself in a particular chair shortly after arriving.
Since this is a somewhat shaky 18th century chair, I was happy to let her
have it, but purchased a fleece-style cat cushion to put on it to save the
seat. Last week I washed the cushion, and now she will not lie on it, even
when I pick her up and put her on it! Other than the fact that it shrunk a
little, I don't see what the deal is.
Do you think she objects to the scent of the laundry detergent? Should I
rewash it without soap or with an unscented one?

Hi
I have a 1 year old female cat who recently started to urinate in the
bathtub and in the shower. She is spayed. She also urinated twice in one
week in my gym bag and another time on my shorts that werer on the floor.
Also, once on the bathroom throw rug that is infront of the sink.
This was never an issue until a couple of weeks ago. She use to always use
her litter box for everything, never going anywhere she wasn't allowed. She
still uses her litter box, I heard her urinate in it the other day. Just
sometimes she goes in odd places.
Not sure what is going on.
A little bit of background, she and three others were ferals from the same
litter, I found them last Oct, had them fixed, etc. I am working on them.
She is very differnet then the others, she is very social and sleepps on my
bed with me. I can pick her up and she doesn't mind. The other three aren't
even close, and tehy stay outside. When I feed them I leave the kitchen door
open and they all walk around the house while I prepare thier dinner.
Sometimes one or two of the cats walk around the home. She gets very
denfensive and protective.
Just wondering if she is marking her space.

and a clean bill of health.
I'm to give her a monthly breast exam, the vet did it with her standing up.
She agreed that in her experience 80%% or better of mammary tumors are
malignant--she thinks because so many people feel them but let them go,
thinking they will go away.
So folks, feel up your girlycats regularly. They have eight "teats" and
feline mammary tumors are particularly aggressive.
Thanks again to all who comforted me and gave us your good thoughts and
prayers. They clearly worked!

To you folks that remember me talking about the feral cat sanctuary that was
going thru political BS and than a mysterious fire happened. I am proud to
say VICTORY
http://www.news-journalonline.com/NewsJournalOnline/News/WestVolusia/wvlWEST02071908...
Woman wins right to license for disputed cat sanctuary
Maybe you can fight city -- or county -- hall, after all.
Apparently, Kristy Grant can. The special education teacher from Pierson has
scratched out a victory in her two-year battle with Volusia County over her
right to have a sanctuary for abandoned and feral cats on her 10-acre
property.
In an order issued Thursday, Circuit Judge Robert Rouse said Grant, who once
appeared on TV's "Dr. Phil" show in an episode on animal hoarding, is
entitled to a "hobby breeder" license under a county ordinance.
What exactly the ruling would mean for Grant's sanctuary, Cat Tail Corner,
wasn't clear Friday. It was uncertain whether the county would appeal.
"We consider it a very large victory," said Grant's Daytona Beach-based
attorney, Eric Latinsky. "I would think the next logical step would be to
write a letter to the county and ask them when we can pick up our license
and then let them tell us if they have any continuing problem with that."

Smile, I've not seen this but I have heard of it. Even to the point of a
'false pregnancy act' (looking for a spot to have kittens, prepping a spot
for laying in) then 'adopting a furry stuffed toy'.
Call the vet to be sure but I think this one is just natures way of saying
'I want to be a mommie'.

i rescued an american shorthair pure bred cat that has a terrible skin
disease fur falling out & raw, is this common for this breed, & hard
to cure, the vet said it could be allergies or stress, i addressed
both but getting worse. I'm to the point that I will take her to the
humane society because i can't afford it.

We recently moved, and unfortunatly several things got lost. I had a
great recipe to use if your dog gets sprayed by a skunk, and if I
recall, it had White Vinigar, Baking Soda, Lemon Juice & Hydrogen
Peroxide in it. (If anyone has the recipe, can you post it for me?)
Thank God none of my dogs ever had that problem, but my friend did!!
She and her DH were vacationing in Cape Cod, and their 1st day her son
called and said their Black Lab got sprayed by a skunk.
She said: "Don't let him in the house!"
Her son said: "Um...too late."
The dog had rolled on all the furnature, beds, carpets, etc. and
thoroughly 'perfumed' her home!! She called me, and I talked her son
through...
