I set up a litter box in their favorite spot to pee and poop in the
bathroom. I noticed poop and one little tiny pee. I left it in there
for a couple of days to make sure they knew what it was for. I cleaned
it out before I went to bed and it was full of little tiny pees.
Yahoo!
I bought a small bag of worlds best cat litter because it will be
easier for them to switch to any other kind of litter from that and it
isn't toxic and isn't dusty and they can lick it off all they want and
it won't clump in their little digestive tract, it will just be
digested.
Yay. No more poop control.

Got the news that my PossRat has this.. :-( Feline Infectious Anemia!!!
Between being robbed...dealing with it and losing Garrr to Hyperthyroid
Disease and Pancreatic Cancer and my Mother being rushed to the hospital...I
wasn't as watchful in regard to the health of my kitties...Poss caught a
cold while these things were going on........I noticed he seemed lethargic
and had a yellowish tint to his former pink ear.... Off to the vet we went
on the 27th.
..
The Vet said as he had such a rough childhood before I rescued him...
Possrat could have contracted the blood parasite then and it stayed dormant
until his system was weak...( Possrat was tested in the past for FIA and
nothing showed up)...His white blood count, Hemacroate were dangerously low.
His creatinine levels are way high( I think that's what the vet said)...Poss
has Jaundice as well...

KFC hardly goes outside now, ever, but yesterday
I was really shocked. I thought there was a dead cat near my fence.
You know that feeling in the pit of your stomach when you are shocked
because it's dreadful, like a road accident?
I got that awful feeling. OMG, a cat has died here..what should I do? Do I
need to find the owners or what?
But no, there was a rare bit of sunshine and Kitty Farmcat had decided to
take advantage of it. I need to have a word with her ;-)
She's a tuxedo, but I've never seen her lying like that, claiming to be a
completely dead totally black cat (and hiding all her white)

... at least according to Xoxo. I played tennis Friday night and came
home quite sweaty (it was *hot* out there!) afterwards. The "sweaty"
clothes hamper was not in its usual place and I didn't want to put
stinky clothes with the regular ones, so I just put them on the floor.
The next morning I found Xoxo snuggled up to my shirt! He spent all day
sleeping on it... I wonder if it smelled good to him?

Today is Holly's 13th birthday. She was still another in my string of
"happy accidents" adoptions. That is, I started out to adopt one type of
cat on each occasion, got one entirely different, and have been happy ever
since that it worked out this way. In fact, I finally learned *never* to
start out with a preconceived notion of what to look for or expect in a cat.
Go with your heart and use some thoughtfulness in the process. In Holly's
case, I went to our local animal shelter the day after Thanksgiving. I had
lost my beloved Amber shortly before and knew it was "time" to adopt another
owner. I had a few days off from work and thought that would be an
opportune time because I could spend a lot of time with my new adoptee.
However, the animal shelter was closed that day. So, I went to our local
pet supply store. They often had kittens that people had dropped off for
adoption. No such luck! There were no kittens. I got into a conversation
with one of the women who worked there and told her what I was looking for.
I was actually looking for a longhaired cat (that was my "preconceived
notion" in this case, arrived at solely because my other cats had been
longhaired and had been such wonderful companions) and also told her that I
"wouldn't mind" adopting an older cat. She said, "Would you consider..." and
proceeded to describe Holly. Holly was not longhaired. She was about six
months old, and her origins were truly sad. She was the product of ...
