Not mine unfortunately, but my partner and I did ok... all things
considered.
Well, the big news is Craig Johnson and his dad brought a five fish bag of
26 pounds to the scale for Yuma Bassmasters on Saturday.
For us it was a good day to.
Since the Antique Kitten isn't fixed yet we were using the tin can on
Saturday.
The timer was out on my livewell pump so I had to switch the livewell on and
off manually all day.
The big motor on my little boat died a couple miles out of Fisher's while we
were running to our first spot. Nothing I did could get it going. It was
like somebody just pulled the kill cord. (The kill cord was properly in
place.)
I just said heck with it and went fishing. Bassfan whacked a couple good
fish pretty quick including one about 5, and a little later I bagged a 6+.
We just kept pulling up the current with the trolling motor. I figured we
wouldn't have much issue making it back to Fisher's with the 82 lb motor I
run on the Whacko, but it started to fade. Before it did I managed to cull a
couple of our smaller fish with a 2+ and a 3+.

I can't believe I did it, not once but twice. BIG DUMMY me, I bought some
Money Minnows and Kevin Van Dam line & lure spray.
Money minnows didn't make it through catching a fish, the head where the
hook goes in tore within the first 3 casts. I bought two packs, one minnow
and the other bluegill. Maybe some glue would help me?
I bought the KVD line spray after watching a video while shopping at the BPS
in Harrisburg, PA on a recent trip. Says it'll make the cast 30%% longer and
avoid line twists, I use 8 pound fluro on a 7' rod, I think I'm getting 40%%
less now? I even wiped the line with a cloth to see if that would help. I
sprayed it on, left it overnight and now when I throw a lure it looks like
phone cord coming off.
On a side note, I woke up early Sunday and first fish was close to 7 pounds,
second thing caught was a snapping turtle about 20 inches across, luckily he
clawed the hook out for me.

My son and I spent 5 days in the Kipawa lake area of eastern Quebec from
June 8 through June 14. I have been fishing the area since 1982 and the
small mouth fishing has held up very well.
Most of the fish were taken on ultra light spinning tackle although when the
wind allowed we did have some luck on fly rods using Clouser minnows.
Warmest water we found was 69F. on the north side of one lake. Top water
action was very sparse. 4 inch plastic worms on 1/8 ounce heads accounted
for most of the spinning rod success.
The top smallie weighed almost six pounds on a Boca grip scale. We averaged
over 20 fish per day each. A few pike were also taken as well as a couple of
walleye. All fish were released.
There are 3 pictures on ABPF.

Sunday - June 22 - Day 157- six days missed
Spalding County Sportsman Club Tournament
Bartlett's Ferry - 6 AM - 2 PM
Water temp 84 - air 70 at blast off, 88 at 2 PM, hazy clouds and some
breeze.
I took off and ran to a bridge I like to fish. Started throwing a
popper and got a 14 inch very skinny largemouth. One in the livewell
at 6:10 - at least I would not zero.
Worked the riprap and caught two throwbacks, including one spot that
might have touched - but I let it go rather than worry about it. Then
another 13 inch largemouth jumped on the plug. Two in the livewell at
6:45.
Sun was over trees so I ran to a small creek I like. Worked the docks
going in and a rocky point - caught a couple of bluegill. Then,
throwing right against a seawall, got another keeper largemouth on the
popper. A few minutes later another one hit - four in the livewell at
7:30. Partner got a keeper on a worm so we kept working back into the
creek although the water was very shallow.

Hello Guys,
I'm an average recreational fisherman (just like most of you), who was
disappointed with most of the fishing website I regularly visited. So
I've recently created a website of my own that does what I need it to.
My site provides peer-to-peer fishing reports for all 50 states. My tag
line is Real Fishermen - Real Fishing Reports.
The site went up last week. I would really appreciate some feedback
from this group, if possible.
Thanks,

Do you guys attach line direct to spinner baits or use some type of swivels?
