  Never Give Up

Lake Sinclair – Spalding County Sportsman Club July Tournament
5:30 PM – 2:00 AM – some clouds, hot, water 89 - 91, full moon

At the ramp while taking up money David came up and said “I told my
partner we would probably have to fight you for that spot in Rooty
Creek. Remember how many fish we caught there the first year I was in
the club and you took me there in a night tournament?â€

We talked about it and how I had to give him some line when he got a
bad backlash and needed to replace his line. I told him I was not
going there first but would get there right at dark.

My partner and I ran down to a point I like near the steam plant and
there was a strong current running over it. Saw some baitfish
breaking the surface. The point has rocks on it, should have been
excellent – we fished it for an hour without a bite.

Worked over to the bridge and saw little bass breaking under it and
bluegill feeding on some Mayflies. I threw everything I could think
of, from topwater to a big spoon, without a bite. Partner got a
keeper on a jig head worm by a piling so we tried that for half an
hour without another bite.

  Amsterdam: my favorite city

Amsterdam is the city of brotherhood. http://www.prontohotel.com
recommends the beautiful "Northern Venice", nickname that Amsterdam
earned thanks to its many channels, to those who desire to have an
opening mind experience. Great museums, buildings and gorgeous
squares, the "buin" cafés, the open air markets of the Nieuwmarkt or
the "Red Light District", are just a few of the attractions that draw
daily hundreds of travelers in the city of Amsterdam. Amsterdam’s
Floating Flower Market is considered in many travel guides as a
tourist attraction. For hotel reservations in Amsterdam visit

  Kentucky or Tennessee?

Author:
Date: Jul 15, 2008 11:48

Hey all,

My darling bride has decided that she has "maybe" one Wisconsin winter left
in her and wants to move south. She has decided that we "need" to move to
Kentucky or Tennessee. Many of you know me and know I need fishing and
hunting opportunities or I'll go crazy, or at least crazier than I am now.
Janet wants four distinct seasons, preferably without months of cold weather
and snow like we have now. I on the other hand really don't want to leave
northern Wisconsin, finding I can deal better with the snow and cold versus
high heat and humidity. So while I like the idea of not snowblowing the
driveway, I'm less than thrilled with the thought of leaving my home state.

However, with that being said, we've begun to investigate the two states.
I've done a little looking online in the Eddyville Kentucky area as I've
been there before.

I know that Tennessee doesn't have a state income tax, and it has "TennCare"
a state sponsored health care program. Does anyone know if Kentucky has
similar bonus points like the aforementioned?

I've been fishing a dropshot finesse worm alot this summer, and catching
some good fish. All the lakes I have fished so far have been clear, the
next three lakes are all stained. Does dropshots work well in stained
water? or is there a better technique. I love the dropshot.

Gee, didn't one of our own come up with this idea first? And for a whole
lot less than $24. Wow.

  smallmouth action

Author: fishtale

I spent the past 2 weeks fishing. Caught some nice bass using my
favourite softbaits (as recommended last year). You really have to
watch your line since the bass mouth the bait and do not run
immediately. I used a 5ft and 7ft rod. The 5 ft rod worked well with a
weightless softbait. The action was best at late pm. All fish would be
keepers but I released them. The softbaits were thrown towards a weedy
shore. It is adjacent to deep water and big bass arrive to feed on
minnows ot they are sitting in the shallows. The minnows do a lateral
boil on the surface signaling bass presence. There is no fishing
pressure.

Applying Registration Numbers to a Sea Eagle SE9 inflatable

Author: yee haw
Date: Jul 11, 2008 21:46

My Wife and I recently bought a new Sea Eagle SE 9 Motor Mount Boat
along with a Minn Kota 55# thrust motor. We have registered the raft
in Texas and have to affix the registration to the sides of the
raft.

Has anyone had experience applying numbers to an inflatable raft?
