Is
Dub Specialist - 'Dar Es Salaam' & Slim Smiths - 'Rougher Yet' the same
riddim?
I know that 'Dar Es Salaam' is the same riddim as Lone Rangers 'Skank
steady'

Peace

No. "Daressalam" uses The Invaders' "Soulful Music" (aka "Sweet Soul
Rocking"), This Studio One rhythm is probably best known for Freddie
McGregor's "Bandulo".

That's the "Mad Mad Mad" rhythm, originally by Alton Ellis, and probably
best know for Michigan & Smiley's "Diseases".

If you're confusing this with "Daressalam" from "African Rub A Dub",
then the labels on your copy of "African Rub A Dub" are the wrong way
round (as are mine!). "Daressalam" (Soulful Music) is track 3 side 2,
whereas "Lusaka" (Mad Mad Mad) is track 3 side 1. If you have the vinyl
check the matrix numbers to confirm which is the A side.
