By virtuoso, I mean bands which could jam. So that automatically
excludes, ABBA, Beatles, Bee Gees, Beach Boys etc.
I am leaving out those jazz fusion bands like Mahavishnu Orchestra,
Dixie Dregs etc. I am also leaving out electronic bands like Kraftwerk,
Tangerine Dream etc.... This is a only ROCK list.
...and this is not a *MOST VIRTUOSO* list.
Based on number of 5 star albums
(the arty dopey ones...)
01. Led Zeppelin (6 albums: 1, II, III, Untitled Album, HOTH, PG)
02. Yes (5 albums: Yes, TYA, Fragile, CTTE, Relayer)
03. Pink Floyd (4 albums: TPATGOD, ASOS, TDSOTM, WYWH)
04. Van der Graaf Generator (3 albums: HTHWATOO, PH, Godbluff)
05. Velvet Underground (2 albums: VUAN, WL/WH)
(the loud jamming ones...)
06. Deep Purple (1 album: MH)
07. Rush (1 album: AFTK)
08. AC/DC (1 album: BIB)
09. Black Sabbath (1 album: Paranoid)
10. Who (1 album: WN)

This list is almost perfect. You just left one header off. I have
corrected this below.

Please tell me how you can have "Top 25 virtuoso rock bands of all time" as
the defining subject line and then say it is not a *MOST VIRTUOSO* list?
Wouldn't *MOST VIRTUOSO* mean the best, top of the genre, etc....? You
contradict yourself, though I really shouldn't be surprised, should I?
How do you manage to hold a job in IT with your logic skills? Wait a minute,
you work for a bank, don't you? Never mind.....
