Top 10 Iron Maiden songs

Well, I first meant to produce 10 best metal songs of all time,
but then recognized that any list compiled by me would be filled
with mostly Iron Maiden & Metallica songs. So I thought that
(unlike Raja) I might just as well be honest about it and restrict it
to Iron Maiden, arguably the greatest heavy metal band of all
time (certainly of the active ones). Especially since I saw them
live last weekend and they ruled, as usual.

Now, Maiden has a huge backlog of metal classics and just plain
awesome tracks, unmatched by anyone except perhaps Judas Priest.
They could easily fill out three full setlists, all of which would
have different songs and each setlist would still totally rule.

Without further ado, the list. Name of the song first, then the
album it comes from:

I will say this, although you gave up the ghost when you said "they
ruled", is that unlike Raja, you explained SOMETHING that you liked in
your list, other than hot air.

Raja: I like this list.
rcsd: Why?
Raja: I like it.
rcsd: what do you like about it?
Raja: I just like it, dummy.
rcsd: FO,R!

So, you passed the first Raja recognition test! You explained,
however slightly, why IM rulez instead of just saying it.

OK, everyone, back to banging your collective heads.

See, that's just retarded, ignoring their two best albums
altogether (7th Son and Powerslave). I've never thought their
debut as being that special - sure it contains classics,
and Di'Anno voice suits their old style well, but it's kinda juvenile
compared to later, refined works, and production is just shitty.

If the "four of their albums" stands for "you know, the usual" then
answer is "not much". I might do Metallica top 10, but I'd have to relisten
Justice For All and Load.

More hardcore Metallica fans would maintain that the band never released
anything worthwhile after Master of Puppets. I'm not quite so
extreme in my position: as I recall, Justice has some good tracks but
horrible production, Black Album is good but dumbed down for the masses
and bit overproduced, Load and Reload have few good songs but not anything
great and feel just stale and pedestrian overall. St Anger has no redeemable
qualities whatsoever. Ride the Lightning and MoP are of course near perfect
records.
