The Who Sell Out -- underrated

For some reason, I have started to like this album much better now.
Among the first concept albums along with Sgt Pepper, it is very
influencial, I guess.

I was initially put off with the silly commericials but I have got
over them. Overall the album is well executed and thankfully just a
single album and doesnt drag like Tommy and Quadrophenia.

I noticed that the album has some okay songs but the good material is
top notch. And I guess those silly commercials can be ignored. Some of
them are funny, anyway. I prefer this album much more to Tommy and
Quadropehia which go on for ever and have themes which are repeated
throughout the album, making them tedious to listen to. Tommy has some
instrumentals which sound exactly the same. And Quadrophenia is over
produced. Sometimes the music is too drowning the singing, I think.
And also again chords are repeated the entire album which makes most
song sound the same.

By the way I noticed that wiki has called both Tommy and Quadrophenia
as progressive rock albums. None of their other albums are called as
such. I must say I agree. The albums are prog, boring "non rocking"
prog like Genesis.

Raja, do you think there is some kind of rating system, like the
tennis rankings?

So what? If anyone ever went to your website you wouldn't have to X-
post all over usenet.

Every album has a concept..for the artists to be able to make an
album. Without an idea in mind..there would be no music created.

What silly commercials?

Oh, Yeah. "Pepper" has always dragged..IMO..but the general public has
always seemed to love it. Now, Why is it underrated by you, all of a
sudden?

"Be your own critic, and just buy what "You" like. Why does it matter
what the critics have to say? Enjoy what you enjoy. I enjoy some
albums by bands..probably
most people haven't heard of. I don't care. I like what I like. "

So true.

That just goes to prove what generation you hail from. You have the
