Rocket 88 (1951 - strong contender)

I love this song!

This song is as old as 1928 and has a bit of a rock n roll beat
Pinetop's boogie woogie by "Pine Top" Smith

Also this
Benny Goodman and Gene Krupa (very good drummer)

Old black lady kicking ass on electric guitar as early as 1938 (this
could be the very first rock n roll song)
Sister Rosetta Tharpe

I used to argue against the hype that called Rocket 88 the first rock
'n' roll song because I felt that some of the earlier New Orleans songs,
like Lawdy Miss Clawdy were more deserving. But for some reason, it
never occurred to me, until I saw a film clip of it, that Ike Turner was
the one playing that pre-Little Richard piano in Rocket 88. And for
another inexplicable reason, seeing Ike play those piano riffs makes the
Rocket 88s claim more credible to me.

No shit.

Jazz. J*A*Z*Z. Not rock and roll. There were hundreds like it in the
30s and 40s, although that's a pretty good one.
