than John McLaughlin<<<<<<<<

Think about it these terms. Walk down the street and ask people if they know
who John McLaughlin is. I bet few would. But everyone knows who Chuck Berry
is.
You're looking at it as a guitarist and musician, polls or lists like what
Rolling Stone offer come from the perspective of a listener. And as far as
Rolling Stone goes, that is a pass'e bird cage liner rag and has been for
many years. What musician would look to RS as a voice of musical intellect
or reason? I quite reading that shit wipe in the mid 70's.

The top 100 guitarist list shouldnt exist because there is no such thing as

The top 100 guitar players of all time will probably remain nameless and
faceless. Known to but a few because they only play at home or in front of
small crowds. The world is chucked full of great guitar players.
Its actually no big thing to be able to play a guitar well. You may as well
make a list of the top 100 loud snorers.
No one will ever know how loud Joe Brown snores because only his wife and
family get to enjoy it.
Chuck Berry played his piano players licks on his guitar. Even though they
werent his he should still be very high on a list because of the influence
he had/has on rock music. Anybody who can only think of Johnny Be Good as a
C.Berry song is either a child or has been kept in a closet for the last 55
years.
The whole idea of a guitar best list is ridiculous...
