I agree, but I suppose that was the charm, that it was the opposite of
polished productions. But oddly, some punk acts like XTC and Joe
Jackson eventually matured into artists.

Please give us examples of "punk" records by either of those artists.

I like some of the punk bands, their attitude. And some of them have
catchy melodies. Like the Ramones... they had some catchy songs on
their debut album. Sex Pistols were political and made a political
statement with their Nevermind the Bollocks album. And of course The
Clash, the most talented of the three, incorportated reggae and other
forms of music into punk.

And lets not forget punk led to new wave, thrash metal and indie music
in some way. In other words it is hugely influencial. And also the
proto-punk bands like Velvet Underground (I think their 1st album was
genius), Stooges, Roxy Music (For Your Pleasure is good), T.Rex were
hugely influencial to punk and alternative rock in general.

But then why do I say, punk rock sucks! Because it is very monotonous.
Most punk bands repeat the same chords in their songs, just changing
their lyrics. The music is amateur. I can hardly listen to a Ramones
song and figure out which song it is. Some of the punk singers have the

most "average" voices. They don't have any range or nor do they have a
good pleasant voice. The drumming is quite weak too. None of the punk
guitarists seem to be able to do anything remote interesting, except
play some rhythm guitar. The metal bands took ONLY the speed element of

Here, you dropped this down at the end. I think it belongs back up in
the third or fourth line.

I am not sure that repetitive eight notes equals speed as far as Highway
Star and Communication Breakdown go. If you would like to rephrase to
suggest the repetitive rhythmic motif that the two above songs provided some
influence, you might have a more relatable argument. Marginal though,
because I think it would be more demonstrative to suggest that the
repetitive style that punk brought to the table was more attributable to an
elementary skill level playing their instruments vs. the influence of DP and
LZ.

He lies about that all the time. He just meant he would change names
for a while. I'm glad he's not a Dylan fan.

"IMO, the speed was the only positive factor that came out the punk era
(1976-79). And there were many other bands like Deep Purple (Highway Star)
and Led Zeppelin Communication Breakdown) who had already set the speed
factor."

What I am saying that those songs aren't all that speedy. They are faster
than Child in Time and Dazed and Confused. You may have meant that it was
the repetitive rhythmic motif. If so, state it.
