Dark Sun - Astral Visions Vol. I (2006) (2-CDR)
In 1998 Finnish space rockers Dark Sun released the incredible Feed
Your Mind album. But except for an album of Hawkwind covers with Nik
Turner and some contributions to compilations we've been waiting all
these years for another full length. The band are wrapping up a new
studio album and have made this 2-CDR (factory printed) set of jams
available to tide us over. This is Dark Sun like you've not heard them
before. Over 2 /12 hours of rehearsal jams, chock full of heavy
exploratory space rock, trippy liquid psychedelia, and acid laced
spaced out hard rock. Limited edition of only 100 copies.
Liquid Visions - The Lost Recordings (2006) (CD)
The Lost Recordings is a collection of previously unreleased live and
studio tracks from 2000
from this German space-psych outfit. 10 tracks ranging from 5-14
minutes in length and a full
80 minutes of totally stunning blazing space rock and psychedelia, from
60's inspired psych
rockers, to ass kicking psychedelic rock n roll, and LOTS of full blown
mind-melting and
completely spaced out jams. Another BIG best of 2006 pick for me! This
is the CD version. We also stock the 2-LP gatefold version.
Northwinds - Chimeres (2006) (CD+DVD)
Third album from this multi-faceted French band, who play an excellent
brand of hard rock,
heavy doom, progressive rock, and even some Celtic folk influences.
Black Sabbath, Ange and Witchfynder General are certainly influences,
but there's also a keyboard presence that adds progressive rock
stylings to the music, folky acoustic passages á la Horslips, and
Northwinds do a great job of incorporating these various elements into
single tracks. Includes cover versions of Le Soir Du Diable (Ange) and
Friends of Hell (Witchfynder General). Vocals mostly in English, but
there's some French too. The CD version includes a 3 track DVD with
live performances from 1995 & 2004. NOTE: The DVD is in PAL format. I
couldn't play it in my US manufactured DVD player but it played fine on
my computer. We also stock the 2-LP gatefold vinyl edition.
Areknames - Love Hate Round Trip (2006) (CD)
Second album from this Italian band that are influenced by Van der
Graaf Generator,
Necronomicon, Quatermass, Monument, Czar, Bram Stoker, Black Widow and
Egg, with wonderful Mellotron and Organ arrangements plus HEAVY guitar.
Their first album was among my favorites of the Black Widow label
progressive rock oriented releases and Love Hate Round Trip
demonstrates that Areknames have only gotten better. Truly stunning
compositions and arrangements and HOT playing from all! Fans of heavy
rocking but complex Prog will be delighted. We also stock the 2-LP
gatefold edition.
Wicked Minds - Witchflower (2006) (CD+DVD)
Second album from this Italian HEAVY Prog-Psych band that recalls the
glory days of Deep
Purple, Uriah Heep, and other heavy Hammond and guitar driven 70's
bands. Retro experiences don't get any more luscious than this, as
Wicked Minds transports us back to the glory days of Hammond laden
progressive Hard Rock!! Includes a cover of Deep Purple's Soldier of
Fortune. The accompanying DVD is a real treat, packed with videos, live
performances and bonus audio tracks. NOTE: The DVD is in PAL format. I
couldn't play it in my US manufactured DVD player but it played fine on
my computer. We also stock the 2-LP gatefold vinyl edition.
Day Shift - Imaginary Menagerie (2005) (CD)
BACK IN STOCK! The first album from UK based Day Shift, who play a
potent brand of Space Rock and Psychedelic influenced guitar rock.
Imagine if the last several Porcupine Tree albums had maintained more
of the spacey influences of their earlier days and you might get
something like Day Shift. You'll also hear lots of Ozric styled
electronics which sound great in a song oriented guitar rock context.
These guys deserve lots of attention.
Day Shift - Of Whispers (2006) (CD)
The latest from UK based Day Shift serves up a new set of the bands
Space Rock infused brand of heavy driving guitar rock. Day Shift remind
me of the last several Porcupine Tree albums... song oriented modern
rock, but with spacey and progressive influences, plus excellent
songwriting, tight as a knot band performances, and impeccable
production. A powerful rocking set!
Trigon - Continuum (2004) (CDR)
BACK IN STOCK! From Germany, Trigon are guitar/bass/drums trio that
excel at heavy psych-rock, acid rock 'n roll, and a jazz influence
can often be detected, though it's always within a hard rock context.
They love to just settle into a groove and explore, often reminding me
of early Guru Guru and even at times, Hendrix. The 15 minute
"Trigonometrie" is one of the highlights of the set, taking lots of
time to really stretch out and explore as Trigon develop their ideas
and themes, and getting nicely spacey along the way. Overall Continuum
is a tasty set that will appeal to any fan of all instrumental
psychedelic heavy rock.
Trigon - Herzberg 2004 (CD)
BACK IN STOCK! From Germany, Trigon are a guitar/bass/drums trio that
excel at heavy
psych-rock, acid rock 'n roll, and a jazz influence can often be
detected, though it's always
within a hard rock context. This album documents the bands performance
at the Burg Herzberg 2004 festival. Augmenting the band for the show
are guests on keyboards and flugelhorn. The keyboards add a killer dark
and aggressive prog rock sound to the usual Trigon hard psych rock
style, though the expected Trigon jams are all here. An exciting set of
hard rock/psych/prog instrumentals, and features some of the most
intense playing and intricately structured music I've heard from Trigon
yet.
Trigon - Emergent (2005) (CD)
BACK IN STOCK! The latest from German trio Trigon features more of
their excellent psychedelic fueled hard rock instrumentals. Any
guitarist who makes continuous soloing the focal point of the music
risks drifting off into repetition and tedium. But Rainer Lange is an
expressive musician who injects fire, passion, attitude and variety
into his playing. Hendrix and Ax Genrich are good analogies, though
after having heard several Trigon albums I'd say Rainer definitely has
a voice of his own. If you like improvational hard psych-rock jamming,
but within a melodic song-like framework you'll love Trigon.
Vert:x - SpaceJunk/Vertex (CDR single)
Vert:x is Neil Whitehead from the UK. Neil plays high powered Space
Rock influenced by
Hawkwind, Psychedelica, rock n roll and a little punk. This is a
2-track 9 minute CDR-single
intended to introduce the world to Neil's music (and priced as such)
while he works on a full
length album. Ass kickin' stuff!! Take the plunge and check it out.
Helios Creed - Deep Blue Love Vacuum (2006) (CD)
In my opionion one of the best Helios albums in a while. It's classic
Helios, but it's also got
a great rock 'n roll element on a several tracks, without abandoning
the trademark Helios
sound. Fabienne Shine (Damon Edge's widow) guest vocals on 3 tracks,
and a killer cover of the Velvet Underground's All Tomorrow's Parties,
which is probably the most purely trippy (though still demented) track
Helios has ever done. This is the CD version. We also stock the 2-LP
version.
The Exploding Madonna - s/t (2006) (CD)
The Exploding Madonna are a trio from Florida that play a powerhouse
brand of spaced out
rocking psychedelia. The music can be insanely acid freakout intense,
but has plenty of
mind-bending tripping moments as well. An excellent combination of well
done songs and
compositions, killer instrumental segments and excellent production.
Imagine a mixture of Amon Düül II, Pink Floyd and My Bloody
Valentine, along with a modern rock edge.
Tim Mungenast - The Un-Stableboy (CD)
Boston based singer-songwriter Tim Mungenast plays a unique and very
personal brand of
psychedelia. Some of the songs are trippy and dreamy, with acoustic
guitars and ethnic
percussion. Others are more rocking and even a bit acidic, like a cross
between Bevis Frond,
Fit & Limo, Captain Beefheart and The Byrds, if you can imagine a
combination like that. He's tough describe but adventurously off-beat
while at the same time being totally accessible. Check him out.
Alien Planetscapes - Freedom Riders (2-CDR)
Originally released on cassette by Harsh Reality in 1989, and now
remastered on CDR, Freedom Riders features Alien Planetscapes in 4 & 5
piece configurations and in full outer limit space rock mode. Killer
cosmic jams, some stretching out to 16 minutes and more. Includes an
intense cover of Richard Pinhas' Stand Bye. NOTE: This release has been
reissued in memorial of Doug "Dr Synth" Walker, who passed away in
April. ALL proceeds go to a fund for Doug's son Evan. Packaging has
been kept simple but done with loving care so as to keep the price low.

while supporting a good cause.
Alien Planetscapes - Radio Special (2-CDR)
Originally released on cassette by Harsh Reality in 1991, and now
remastered on CDR, Radio Special features monstrous space rock jams by
full band Alien Planetscapes. This is full blown HEAVY improvisational
space rock but also features some of the jazzier and more progressive
sides of the band. Most tracks are in the 16 - 23 minute range. These
guys could jam forever and I'd never want it to end. NOTE: This release
has been reissued in memorial of Doug "Dr Synth" Walker, who passed
away in April. ALL proceeds go to a fund for Doug's son Evan. Packaging
has been kept simple but done with loving care so as to keep the price
low. So get some outstanding archival music from the space rock

Alien Planetscapes/Victimized Karcass - Live July 1987 (CDR)
Originally released on cassette by Harsh Reality in 1987, and now
remastered on CDR, Live July 18, 1987 was recorded at the Harsh Reality
studios and featured Doug Walker & Carl "Nomuzic" Howard (Alien
Planetscapes) performing with fellow underground space rockers
Victimized Karcass. This is a totally insane brand of jamming space
rock that makes me think of those scary LSD films they showed us in
high school in the 70's. Totally cosmic and completely outrageous!
NOTE: This release has been reissued in memorial of Doug "Dr Synth"
Walker, who passed away in April. ALL proceeds go to a fund for Doug's
son Evan. Packaging has been kept simple but done with loving care so

Alien Karcasscapes - Victims of the Flame (2-CDR)
Originally released on cassette by Harsh Reality in 1987, and now
remastered on CDR, Victims of the Flame was a collaboration between
Doug Walker (Alien Planetscapes) and fellow underground space rockers
Victimized Karcass. Totally freaked out, truly insane, stretched out
lengthy space rock tracks. Includes a crazed space rock cover of Van
Halen's Ain't Talkin' Bout Love. NOTE: This release has been reissued
in memorial of Doug "Dr Synth" Walker, who passed away in April. ALL
proceeds go to a fund for Doug's son Evan. Packaging has been kept
simple but done with loving care so as to keep the price low. So get

Alien Planetscapes - Equinox/Astral Vacations (2-CDR)
Originally released on cassette by Harsh Reality in 1988, and now
remastered on CDR, Equinox and Astral Vacations feature Alien
Planetscapes from the days when Doug Walker experimented with purely
electronic collaborations. Equinox consists one 47 minute track with
Doug Walker and Louis Boone on all manner of synthesizers, tapes, efx
and percussion. Astral Vacations features the duo of Doug walker and
Carl "Nomuzic" Howard cranking out long electronic space journeys.
Check this out for some truly adventurous electronic space excursions.

Alien Planetscapes - Everybodys Mad at Amerikkka (2-CDR)
Originally released on cassette by Harsh Reality in 1987, and now
remastered on CDR, Everybodys Mad at Amerikkka showcases the space
electronic side of Alien Planetscapes and what true electronic music
adventurers they were. Both discs feature looooong tracks with the duo
of Doug Walker and Carl "Nomuzic" Howard, with Marlon Cherry
contributing guitar to disc 1. Check this out for some truly cutting
edge experimental electronic space music. NOTE: This release has been

LPs:
Fit & Limo - A Bunch of Herbs (2006) (LP+CD)
Fit & Limo (from Germany) are among the most exciting and adventurous
artists in the folk-psych genre, incorporating all manner of
progressive rock, ethnic, krautrock and many more elements into what is
some of the most incredibly beautiful and trippy psychedelic music.
Their 5th release on the September Gurls label (full title is A Garland
of Flowers & A Bunch of Herbs) is an LP + CD set featuring new songs,
alternate takes and previously released material, including rare tracks
from 7"es and compilations, plus covers of Syd Barrett and Tom Rapp
songs. Both the LP and CD come in silkscreened sleeves and are a
limited edition of 318 numbered copies. Note that the image shown is
the CD cover.
Atomic Workers - Embryonic Suicide (2006) (LP)
Atomic Worders is a collaboration between Gary Ramon of Sundial and
members of Italian
psych-rock band That's All Folks. It's a SMOKIN' set of down 'n dirty
HARD psychedlic rock,
with killer blazing acid and garage guitars, but also some more spaced
out and dreamy, yet
equally tripped out tracks. In addition to the in-yer-face guitars we
also get Wurlitzer,
Hammond, Mellotron, sitar, and more. Includes a cover of Donovan's
Hurdy Gurdy Man. This is the Nasoni Records gatefold LP release of the
CD originally issued Gary Ramon's Acme label.

2-LP gatefold vinyl edition of the second album from this Italian HEAVY

Toothfairy - Does Not Work Well With Reality (2006) (2-LP)
Toothfairy are tough to describe. They range from dark and moody stoned
psychedelia, to drugged folk-psych, lysergic lo-fi songs, and freaky
experimentations that sound like a spaced out version of The Residents.
Weird stuff to be sure and much fun over 4 LP sides. Adventurous music
fans will find much to enjoy over repeated listens.
