Jan Hammer - keys, bass, drums
Don't even think he can't.
Edgar Froese - entire albums - guitar, keys
Plenty to prove that.
Klaus Schulze - entire albums - keys, drums, guitar
Need examples?
Stephen Stills - guitar, keys, etc.
Not prog, but still...
Ian Anderson - flute, guitars, keys, etc.
Need we go on?

I just heard some of that first Boston album again, for the first time
in over 20 years. That's some flimsy Hammond organ playing, considering
the real players out there, then and now.
It made a lot of money, that album. So did McDonald's, Coca Cola,
Budweiser and Marlboro. Big deal, it wasn't all that great a record.

Others were creating better music, with that same technology, then and
earlier.

He wasn't even in a class with Jurgen Fritz of Triumvirat, let alone any
of the giants of the Hammond. I thought it blew chunks back in 1977.

It sounded like test-tube music, created in a laboratory, which, in a
very real sense, it was.
Boston had one important thing in common with bands like Styx and
Kansas. They didn't matter.
