Dear friends,
Have you ever listened to Magma's "Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh" and
thought: Hey, this sounds like English?
Have you ever wondered if maybe the whole thing actually *was* in
English -- secretly?
Have you ever thought that maybe it was actually a story about
Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Zizek getting his heart broken by Yoko
Ono, Wittgenstein waiting for presents from Santa Claus disguised as
Gandalf, Theodor Adorno practicing Wicca, war in the Middle East,
smashing the patriarchy, and whether or not Jewish theological texts
are capable of rocking and rolling?
If so, you've come to the right post, because your suspicions have
been confirmed! Watch and be amazed at:
"Magma's Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh Mishëard, Or, Theoretical
Perspectives on Conflict in the Middle Earth... er, East: Religious
Conflict and Constructed Languages"!
Watch it here:

That's great, Alex. My neighbors suffer, indeed!

T.C.S., my collaborator on this, has done a couple of other misheard
lyric videos (without me) which you should definitely check out:
Kansas's "Point of Know Return" (now a history of Jewish breads, with
commentary from Michel Foucault):
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Nmwze-9yt_U
Nightwish's "Wishmaster" (now a story about Odysseus, golems, the Marx
Brothers, and the decline of Western civilization):
