Question-
"...are discouraged, except for those which quote famous (or
> not-so- famous) Stooge lines..."
-does that refer to The Stooges or The Three Stooges? The latter probably
being more appropriate.

In the mid 80s (at least - maybe Wes can say more), there was a DJ
in Cleveland (BLF Bash?) that used to play the title track every
Saturday night at 1am (2am?). Wonderful tune, wonderful album.

I see your point, but MK has a frickin' _choir_ on it! That's kind of hard to
call "stripped down".

Bah. Revolver would still be better than the overrated parping on Pet Sounds, even had
it only been released as a one-sided single with 'Tomorrow Never Knows' on it.
But I agree totally about Sgt. Pepper's.

And you know, that's kinda the shame about Magma: those ever present vocals.
I say this even as a Yes fan, which means I have a high tolerance for unbearable
vocals.

Yeah, it's just a matter of individual taste. Revolver is an excellent album,
and it's perhaps more stylistically diverse, and a lot of people who go around
fawning over Pet Sounds annoy the piss out of me, but I can't help it, I like
Pet Sounds, a lot.

I always liked 'Mutations' best, specifically the English edition with
the laugh-a-minute "Runners Dial Zero" on it. I seem to be naturally
drawn to miserable music

All right, so I made a list. Why did I do this? Because, apparently, I am a
complete fucking loser, and I actually find such exercises in tedium
diverting. And because I am a self-absorbed sadist, I am going to inflict the
list on the five of you who still read this newsgroup (actually there may be
as many as ten, but I think I have five of you killfiled).
Here are the criteria: To select one album from every year from 1964 to the
present. Why 1964? No particular reason. I just thought that 1964 was when
pop music started to get really interesting (which...

Raja - I take it all back. Compared to this full-of-himself windbag,
you're an absolutely bracing shot of fresh air.

You're definitely gay.
80%% (?) of that stuff I've never heard. Talk Talk is about some of
the best you put in there for me.
