ALBUM

Today's addition is a new album by Israeli guitarist Shimshon Miel, a
legendary figure on the local scene, celebrating his return to "active
duty" after 30 years of silence.

Shimshon Miel - "It's me"

Since the reissue in early 2007 of Shimshon Miel's legendary 1977
album "Orchard Of The Whispering Embers" (the rarest Israeli Prog /
Psychedelic album originally pressed in 200 copies only), I've met...

ALBUM

Today's addition is another South American release, as there seems to
be no end to the treasures originating in that part of the world:

Matraz - "Tiempo"

1st album by Chilean Prog group Matraz led by keyboards player Diego
Aburto and guitarist Claudio Cordero. With Marcelo Stuardo on drums
and Inti Oyarzún on bass the group plays a fantastic mix of Symphonic...

ALBUM

Today's addition is another album by Osiris, one of the very few Prog
bands from the Arab world:

Persian Gulf, and the first Prog album to be released in that part of
the world. Formed in 1980 by brothers Mohamed Al-Sadeqi (guitars...

ALBUM

Today's addition is another great Japanese Fusion album:

Side Steps - "Alive II"

6th album by Japanese Fusion heroes Side Steps and (as the title
suggests) their second live album. Over the years the band established
itself as the primary Fusion act in their country. All the band
members (Atsunobu Tamura - guitar, Hiroaki Itoh - keyboards, Koichi
Iwai - bass and Ichiro Fukawa - drums) are superb instrumentalists and
they perform with vigor and passion. The excellent melodies serve as
ideal vehicle for extended instrumental improvisations, often played
at neck-breaking speed. This is the kind of music every Fusion fan
craves for.

Today's addition is an interesting Prog album from Russia, another
country where the genre is waking up:

ALBUM

Today's addition is the debut album by Brazilian Jazz ensemble Projeto
B, which I was looking for desperately, finally here:

Projeto B - "Andarilho"

1st album by the Brazilian Jazz ensemble Projeto B, an instrumental
septet playing some of the most interesting and imaginative music ever
recorded. Deeply rooted in both modern Jazz and modern Classical
music, the music combines the two perfectly. All the musicians are
superb instrumentalists and the tricky arrangements and complex
compositions are performed with grace and elegance, as if they
required little effort to execute. The band's guitarist Yvo Ursini and
saxophonist Leonardo Muniz Corrêa composed all the music (except one
track, which is based on a Charles Ives composition). The overall
effect is absolutely stunning and overwhelmingly captivating, proving
that music has still so much to offer when handled by true Artists. A
must!
