Jade Warrior "NOW" album release next week...

Author: Dave Platt

Jade Warrior's new album "NOW" is scheduled to be released next
Monday, 20 June 2008.

This album marks Jade Warrior's return to progressive music-making
after a hiatus of almost fifteen years. The band lineup is a new-
and-old one, with founding member Jon Field (flute, percussion, and
keyboard) and Dave Sturt (bass, samples, keyboard, and production)
from the band's 1990s lineup being rejoined by Glyn Havard (vocals,
lyrics, and guitar) from the band's first incarnation in the 1970s.
Guest and supporting musicians include Jeff Davenport, Tim Stone, Theo
Travis, Chris Ingham, Gowan Turnbull, and the scarily-brilliant
Charlotte Field. Engineering for the album was provided by Noel
Watson and Andy Jackson.

The music is both recognizably Jade Warrior, and distinct from
anything the band has done in the past. The band has developed a new
and (to me) fascinating musical chemistry, which combines the melodic
ambience for which Jade Warrior is best known with an edginess,
emotionality, and some impressive power. Portions of the album can be
heard on-line on the band's web site - give it a listen!
