Poor little Raja...

I do happen to like the Aerosmith rendition off "Get Your Wings",
along with the rest of the album. (Sorry, it's not prog rock but
considering the prog content around here lately...)

I wonder how many bands will do Hendrix songs? Raja states that
Hendrix was a one album band and not worthy of much recognition.

Well, I can think of 2 songs that have been covered, albeit maybe not
as memorably as "Train", but here goes:

"Little Wing"
-------------

Derek & The Dominoes (Clapton)
Stevie Ray Vaughan

"Purple Haze"
-------------

Frank Marino (Mahogany Rush)
Tangerine Dream
I think Kronos Quartet did it also

The ABSOLUTE cover of a Hendrix song is "Voodoo Chile Slight Return"
by Stevie Ray. He captured the *** essence *** of the playing of that
song - not a clone / copy, but you could feel it.

Mind you, these are all post 1969 covers. Anyhoo, ya got me to think
about this. I'm sure I could come up with more performers who played
those songs on an album, but that was off the top...

Hmmm... maybe another good topic, instead of Raja's lists?
