The Beatles did not very often promote their LPs using singles off of
it. The American companies did that. The Beatles policy was to leave
singles OFF of their LPs.
Thus, Sgt. Pepper had no singles from it. Neither did the White Album.
"Rain" and "Paperback Writer" did not appear on an LP until after
their breakup. Likewise with other of their singles.
Zeppelin's strategy on the other hand was not to release their popular
songs as singles at all, because that way they sold more albums. Had
Zep released their popular songs as singles, they probably wouldn't
have had as many album sales.
