Check your stats, please. The Beatles are top for *album* sales.
They're also top for single sales. They're also top for chart number
ones, both charts, both sides of the Atlantic - and elsewhere.
The Beatles have never been toppled. Zepplin are (were) good, one of
the best, but for sheer imagination, the Beatles top them. For the
variety of styles and for pushing the boundaries and for a number of
other reasons, they are still the best. At least, I'd wager more
opinions would coincide with that judgement than in yours. For you, LZ
are number one - and that's ok - but for me they're not even top ten.
But then, I listen to a very wide variety of bands across all genres.
