Interesting!
The following acts have four or more songs on the list:
The Beatles (12)
Elvis Presley (10)
Rolling Stones (8)
Bob Dylan (7)
James Brown (7)
The Beach Boys (6)
Chuck Berry (6)
Led Zeppelin (6)
Prince (6)
Stevie Wonder (6)
The Who (6)
Elton John (5)
Jimi Hendrix Experience (5)
Marvin Gaye (5)
Pink Floyd (5)
Queen (5)
Ray Charles (5)
U2 (5)
Aretha Franklin (4)
Bob Marley & The Wailers (4)
The Clash (4)
David Bowie (4)
Everly Brothers (4)
Little Richard (4)
Madonna (4)
Michael Jackson (4)
Run D.M.C. (4)
Sam Cooke (4)
Sly and the Family Stone (4)
The Supremes (4)
Not a bad list, overall, although there are some obvious omissions (to
me at least), among which are Elvis Costello's "Peace, Love, and
Understanding", Pearl Jam's "Better Man", and one of The Hollies'
earlier tunes (I'd suggest "Carousel"). I'd also suggest that The Byrds
are underrepresented.
***NOTES TO RAJA***
1. Note that Yes only has one tune on the list. (Actually, to be fair,
I think "I've Seen All Good People should be there too.)
2. Anyone halfway competent at analyzing comparisons between various
musical acts should *at a bare minimum* be intimately familiar with the
vast majority of the songs on this list (covers by later acts don't
count). You got your homework cut out for you, son!
3. Don't whine if the "real" Raja isn't the OP. Learn, learn, learn!
