This whole scene seems too generic, as something so basically "Star Trek"-like that it most likely was made up by this guy claiming to be such an ... you have a basic, real-sounding "spoiler" that may or may not have any basis in reality. IMO, this new scene exists only in the imagination of the mysterious reporter...and for those who, perhaps foolishly, believe in his convincingly spun tale....
