ProgDay Preshow On Friday.
ProgDay is happy to announce the performance of two great bands. On
Friday night, August 29, LOCAL 506 in Chapel Hill will be hosting
KINETIC ELEMENT and SPEECHLESS.
Led by "Mad Organist" MIKE VISAGGIO, KINETIC ELEMENT is a keyboard
based progressive rock trio that was originally formed to perform the
music from "Starship Universe" (2006), a solo CD by Mike. The band
continued to perform and write. Currently, in addition to "Starship
Universe," the band's repertoire includes original material from their
newest opus,"The Powered By Light Suite," as well as covers of
selected classic prog tunes.
SPEECHLESS is an instrumental mix of rock, jazz, classical, world,
funk, metal... (pretty much everything the band members love) all
tossed in a blender and shaken well. Their debut CD ranked #46 in the
GAGLIARCHIVE's Global Progressive Top 100 Poll of 2007, and in 2008
their song "Stella" was awarded "Best Progressive Rock Instrumental
Indie Performance" by the PROGRESSIVE ROCK HALL OF FAME.

Greetings,
In the latest issue of Perfect Sound Forever
www.perfectsoundforever.com>, you'll find (among other things):
BILL HARRINGTON
From Prog to Cage & Beyond
"A lot of musicians naturally, when the time came to eke out one's
existence away from the primordial nest, gravitated to employment in
record shops. Harrington somewhat followed suit but opted for the
wholesaler's side, spending a couple of years in the middle morass of
the industry, a prime spot for amassing an impressive collection of
recordings of electronic and avant-garde musics. This and his
schooling, not to mention natural talent, led to starting up as
keyboard tech for such groups as the immortal Gentle Giant... So where
to go from there? King Crimson? Genesis? Premiata Forneria Marconi?
How about Frank Zappa? Interestingly enough, Harrington somehow came
to the attention not of Zappa but of one of his keyboard players,
Tommy Mars."
We're always looking for good writers and/or ideas so let us know if
you have anything to share.

SOURCECODEX: Guided Relaxations through Soundwaves
New CD out . . .
Here's a headsup to a compilation of SourceCodeX's best moments to
promote that sense of timelessness and de-stressing, neuro-chem
release . . . new material on this release only.
I was asked to speak on ambient music and relaxation after being in
local news about my music. I compiled the fav trax from all my
releases and offered them for sale at lecture. Feedback was good as to
the CD's calming effect so I decided to release it officially.
Other than James Johnson's Surrender or Steve Roach's Quiet Music
being on daily repeat mode, in my car CD player -- it is actually my
own stuff on this collection, many times, that I find the most
effective in de-stressing -- no brag, just fact.
Samples, sales, and info here:

Ciao!
Happy travels . . . "brain drool" warning

New Album!
CCA : Not Different But Not The Same.
Cushma/Cides/Alexander + guests (Tony Levin, Trey Gunn and more)
Mitjà-Media press
Would you like to see something different? Or at least, something that is
not the same?
The new album of Linda Cushma, Guillermo Cides and Tim Alexander -CCA- is
what you are looking for.
The meeting of three artists presents an album full of good surprises and
of exquisite bouquet - from the first moment, we find impressive graphic
art. It is a kind of box or carton that presents a "freak circus show." On
having opened it, we find what might be a modern painting of some European
museum - faces and strangers' bodies come from unknown worlds. They look
at us impassively and prepare us to enter a musical world where the
freedom and the search for good music is present.
