Bonzo. Nicko McBrain. Lenny White. Chad Smith. These guys spring
to mind for me as being particularly quick with a single pedal.
Who comes to mind for you?

This newsgroup is about music and the various relevant issues that
relate to our music making as drummers and percussionists. Here we
communicate ideas, philosophies and opinions about the art of music,
and also about those areas which exist to frame the art (instruments,
employment issues, social issues within a social art, etc.)
Membership in this newsgroup does not carry a license to spread
irrelevant political views, racist or otherwise.
While music legitimately conveys all different kinds of messages, I
believe I speak for many of us in saying that music is big part of our
spirituality. For those of us who hold music at the highest level of
our existence, it is an incredible affront to read some of the recent
topics and postings on this list. To the narrow thinking contributors,
your hateful and uneducated views don't belong here or anywhere else
intelligent and artistic thinking people spend time.
I feel compelled to respond to this, perhaps because I feel the need
to defend my innate sense of decency when I am particularly offended.
And history shows many cases where people have perished just because
they kept their mouths shut when they should have protested.

Obama is a good Afro Leninist.
If you poke a stick in a pile of shit
and stir it around for a while it's still shit
when you done.
Who get's upset over a cartoon?
Muslims do of course.
Who would like to ban such things?
A good America hating liberal like Osama Obama
Liberal democrats like to own the race thing because of liberal guilt.
They are the true racist. A poor nigger is a good nigger
to them because they can count on their vote.

Hi drummers -
Does anyone here feel that both of your hands have equal ability? I've been
working on my hands for years and my left hand just isn't as smooth (accurate,
elegant, fast, etc.!) as my right (I'm right handed).
I've done plenty of stick control and playing. I guess they'll never be equal.
What's reasonable to expect? Does anyone have truly equal hands? Billy Cobham
looks and sounds pretty good in that regard to me.
And sure, I know it's not just about technique. It just seems like I should
have gotten closer by now. Moeller seems to be helping in general (I've just
been experimenting with it over the couple of years I guess).
What works for you? What's your practice routine? Special exercises?
Regards,
-- Doug

First post in AGB at least (though I'm sure RMMP is all over it
already), their first time on US TV in like 30 years I think they
said?
Started with an interview the highlight of which was a shot of Alex's
bald spot while they signed Stephen at his producer's request, then
they played Tom Sawyer.
For a TV appearance holy crap, they nailed the sound. Extremely well
done especially for a show not known for hosting live musical guests.
Then again the producer is a fanatic apparently and surely didn't
wanna screw it up. Though the cut to commercial and ending during the
song was pretty wacky.
Best Regards,
