... out is most likely driven from a signal from the main out. The Main out can now  be turned up to help control the signal to the heaphone amp without driving the ( turned off) speakers. Skip- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Or take the lineout first to a stereo receiver then from the receiver to the camera and use the headphones on the stereo receiver for a monitor.
