Teenage Jesus & The Jerks reunion - 1 night only

Author: DLJ
Date: Mar 26, 2008 20:16

Not sure there is even a proper newsgroup for this, but, in case it's
news and of interest to anyone, Teenage Jesus & The Jerks are re-
forming for one night only, to perform two shows in NYC @ The Knitting
Factory on 13th June.

The blurb from Time Out NY:
http://www.timeout.com/newyork/tonyblog/?p=3236

Sorry for the cross-posting; if there's a more relevant newsgroup this
should appear in, please feel free to repost there if it hasn't been
already.

  Acquiescent Musical Bait 'n' Switch

Author: mimus
Date: Mar 21, 2008 12:25

How many times have you heard an electro-EBM song that starts out with
some very intriguing sounds/musical voices indeed, and then, after working
them up a little, and instead of working them up even more and sequencing
them for the body of the song, relegate them instead diminuendo to the
background or even discard them entirely, in favor of a more or less
standard electro-EBM rhythmic combo?

That's as annoying as ballad-structure, really.

Let there be non-acquiescent throbbing.
