The number of songs sungs by the leading singers of the Hindi filmdom
has been carefully calculated and comprehensive song listings exists.
It is well-known since more than a decade that none of these legendary
singers have come anywhere close to the opt-repeated magical figures
such as 30,000 or 40,000 in terms of the number of songs that they
have sung. I was wondering whether similar song listings or
calculations exist for the number of songs sung by legendary singers
of south Indian films - K J Yesudas, S P Balasubramaniam, P Susheela
and others. For instance, the following website on K J Yesudas (and
perhaps his official website ??) makes the claim that he sang 30,000
songs, but cites no references whatsoever:

I have read articles about him claiming that he sang 40,000 songs.
There exists an interview of SPB, where the interviewer asks him as to
how come he managed to sing 20,000 or 30,000 songs, with as many as 20
