Question on Dil Ek Mandir / Nenjil Oru Alayam story

Author: Pooji
Date: Feb 24, 2008 12:29

Are the two stories in Dil Ek Mandir / Nenjil Oru Alayam idenitcal.
I saw Dil Ek Mandir only y'day. I have not seen Nenjil Oru Alayam
but knew parts of the story.
Who dies in the end in Nenjil Oru Alayam.
The reason why I am asking this question is that a Sinhala version
of the movie made in 1960s had the woman dying at the end.
I don't think many people knew that Sinhal one is based on
Nenjil Oru Alayam - but it is.
So I was surprised when I saw that Rajendre Kumar deis at the end
in Dil Ek Mandir.

Thanks

Pooji

  Two Hit Songs from 1975

Author: Asif
Date: Feb 23, 2008 06:37

In the Binaca Geetmala weekly list of 17 December 1975 that I have,
the original hand-written entries for the bottom two ratings are
these:

15. Abhi naheen
16. Dharti ambar

Neither the original author of this list recalls anything about these
songs nor I can guess them, especially since there is no mention of
their films either. Does anyone have any idea what these songs could
be? They could be from films released in 1975 or early 1976.

When I learned to play the radio in early 1976, the song 'abhi naheen
jaana naheen' (Zinda Dil, 1975) was fairly popular, and this could be
the song at rating 15 unless there was a more popular song with
similar opening words around the same time. Thanks.
