He turned 56 on Thursday. And he’s thought of a tribute to his father
who passed away 21 years ago. The son plans to use six ‘hidden’ tunes
by Kishore Kumar in a film to be directed by Anant Mahadevan.
One of the songs is an unre leased on from the vintage Kishore Kumar-
Madhubala movie Jhumroo (1961). The other five were originally in
Bengali.
“ I feel this is the best way to earn Baba’s blessings. His fans, too,
ought to be happy says Amit ,” Kumar. As part of his ‘team’, Amit
Kumar has recruited brother Sumit Kumar and step-moth er Leena
Chandavarkar. The film will credit Kishore Kumar as the music composer
just as Madan Mohan was credited for Veer Zaara. Amit will sing all
the six tracks.
Sumit is in charge of the music arrangement while Chandavarkar has
written the lyrics for two of the numbers. The other lyrics are by
Yogesh.
