RMIMers/RMICers,

This is the well-known Shuddh Saarang-based composition (MD=Yashwant
Deo), with lyrics by Sant Gora Kumbhaar. I have the song on cassette -
the trouble is, a friend inadvertently taped over 3-5 seconds of the
song in the early going...does anyone here have a digitized copy they
might be willing to share?

Thanks in advance,

Sanjeev

surhall Rendezvous with Mubarak Begum Sahiba

on 09-07-2008 12:06

5TH July, 2008 will be remembered by music lovers in Hyderabad as a
day of revival of the vintage music of the hfm (hindi film music). For
nearly six months now, we have been trying to organize a grand musical
show and also invite some well known playback singer of the
yesteryears to Hyderabad. The closest we came to was the name of
Mubarak Begum Sahiba and our good friend Samarjit Acharjee was in
continuous contact with her. Either the glorious singer with the
golden voice was not available when we had wanted to organize a show
or we were preoccupied with our normal lives and thus we could not go
ahead with the idea that remained in our minds. However, we did not
lose heart and kept our trials going.,

Tribune News Service

Kotla Sultan Singh (Amritsar), July 29
A team of Films Division, led by Kuldeep Sinha, chief producer, today
visited the native village of legendary playback singer Mohammad Rafi
to shoot a documentary film on him for the first time.

The film will be shown during the forthcoming 39th International Film
Festival to be held in Goa from November 22 to December 2.

Talking to The Tribune, Sinha said he had conceived the idea of making
a documentary film on Rafi in 1980 and it took about 28 years to
implement it.

He said his team had interviewed Rafi’s son Shahid and a number of
actors, singers and music and film directors.
