Deko Deko Tum fron Nischay was an "informal" fun song so execution /
voice quality is not AS important as expression of playful and
romantic emotions. Amit Kumar did a great job of the latter. He
sounded very natural and like he was having youthful fun. This is
exactly how it was to be on screen. Sometimes a singer compromises his
voice to express certain emotions (you don't have too but it's one
artistic option). When Amit Kumar sings "tere qurban - tu hai meri
jaan!" - his voice doesn't sound as polished because he's trying to
convey the emotion of being overwhelmed - you are my life! Amit Kumar
could have easily toned that down for more polished singing had he
chose to.

I agree that Kavita Krishnamurthy sounded more polished vocally but in
terms of playful expressions (which I cared for most in this song) - I
preferred Amit Kumar. He sounded natural while she sounded like a
professional, reserved singer reading the lines, "tere kya baat hai".
I wish she had rendered the song in the same playful natural way as
she did with "Hawa Hawai" from Mr India. Maybe I'm reading into the
song too much and should just relax & just enjoy lol.
