Giitaayan lists 3 verses for this song. All recordings I have heard so far
have only the first two verses. The lyrics for the third verse as listed in
giitaayan are -

jaa ke koii vapas na aaye
khoj khoj thak jaaye.n ho
khoj khoj thak jaaye.n do nainaa chaa.Nd suraj ke

I do recall hearing this verse in my childhood (that was long long long time
ago), either on the radio or some where. But now I am begining to think that
this third verse may just be a myth. I have the VCD (Shemaroo) for the film.
That does not have this third verse either.

Any one out there who actually recalls hearing it? Is it available on any of
the recordings? I just downloaded the song from Khalid Mahamood's website
too. Again, only 2 verses there.

Saigal's song - Dil Se Teri Nigah / Probably a Non-Film Song
and not from KARWAN-E-HAYAT

In Hindi Films Geet Kosh (HFGK), as well as at Saigal's web-site (plus
all other
sites), catalog this song as from the film KARWAN-E-HAYAT (1935)

In HFGK, there is no Record #, indicating that 78 rpm record was
not issued.
Only 1 record of Saigal's song was released, which being: Harat-e-
Nazara
Aakhir Ban Gayi and the Record # was H-265

For Long time, I had the feeling that the version available on
Saigal's LP / Tape /
CD is a later date recording and probably a Non-Film number. I had
cataloged
it as a Non-Film number

76. The main purpose of the record is to make VEENA popular in other
countries.I play pure carnatic, film songs (Hindi,Kannada, Tamil &
telugu) and also fusion on Veena.
