What do you say when Saif is given an award for "Best Actor in a Negative Role"
for Omkara and Hrithik is given an award for "Best Actor" for Dhoom2, although
the way I saw it, Hrithik was the villain in Dhoom2. So why didn't he win in
place of Saif. Or vice-versa. I have yet to fathom this idiocy.

Honestly there is no point in complaining. From the looks of it, quite a few
RMIMers have watched the awards. Year after year people vent their frustrations
but come Feb end, everyone queues up in front of the TV, as if they were going
to find some divine inspiration. It's hard to blame the FF committee or SRK or
anyone for what is our lunacy. After all the definition of insanity is "doing
the same thing again and again and hoping for a different result".

A tip that works for me for keeping track of some of my favorite songs
over the course of the year.

No one could have said it better!

Rememebr when Dil To Pagal Hai had broken all previous records of music
sales ten years ago. Poor Uttam Singh probably did not receive any part of
the additonal revenues, and he had the tenacity to speak out in public
(where else, but in Filmfare) that whatever Yashji had given him as
remuneration for DTPH, he had accepted it as 'prasaad'.

Except for Gadar and Dushman, Uttam Singh perhaps did not land any other
assignments for music after that (I may be wrong, open to corrections).

  TALAT MEHMOOD - Birth Anniversay

Author: Sukesh
Date: Feb 28, 2007 06:22

February 24th was Talat Mehmood's birth anniversay. How come we forgot
about it.

Khalid Mahmood belatedly sent an email with this info.

* Dubai's most popular station FM 89.1 went 'live on air' via
telephone with his singer son Khalid Mahmood reliving memories of his
world famous father on 24th Feb !

* RADIO SRI LANKA dedicated an exclusive half hour program in memory
of the King on 24th Feb.

* FILMFARE AWARD NITE on 23rd Feb (India's very own Oscar) remembered
Talat by flashing the very famous still from his hit film 'Dil e
Nadaan" where he is shown playing a violin.

* A new 'TALAT WITH FANS' page has been added to the website where
you might just find yourself or close family member in one of these
photo's ! A sleeker Navigation Panel is now in place to go thru the
website, which gets over 5 million hits each year from Talat fans
around the world.

While the songs were pretty blah--melody wise, I did like Anu Malik's usage of
sarangi and tabla. It's a different matter that Aishwarya at times had trouble
dancing to the thekas.
