Riyaaz, a young Austin music group, in collaboration with the
University of Texas Music Department, presents a concert by Vidushi
Vandana Bhagwat, one of India's finest classical vocalists. Gifted
with a mellifluous voice and trained by (among others) the late legend
Pandit Nivruttibuva Sarnaik, Vandanaji's specialty is the repertoire
of rare and compound ragas from the Jaipur tradition, which she
handles with consummate ease. Do not miss what promises to be an

Vidushi Vandana Bhagwat received initial training from Vasantrao
Behere (her father) and the late Pandit Narayanrao Vyas. She later
graduated in music from Mumbai University. The turning point in her...
