Question on Ustad Faiyyaz Khan's "Banaao Batiyaan" - Urdu Verse

RMICers/RMIMers,

The commercially available recording of the Aftab-e-Mausiqi singing
this Bhairavi Dadra is well known. I have been trying to decipher the
lyrics of the Urdu verse he places in the middle of the rendition, but
only get it in bits and pieces. I know the rhyme scheme is along the
lines of "...Raat Na Thi, ...Baat Na Thi, ...Mulaaqaat Na Thi", etc.,
but was wondering if someone better acquainted with the recording
might be able to fill in the blanks.

Thanks in advance,

Sanjeev

LOS ANGELES: Pandit Girish Chatterjee, a renowned classical artist of
Kolkata, is currently in Los Angeles at the invitation of Bangladesh
Academy..."

Although the report goes on to say he "_is_ a research scholar of the
Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkatta for the past 10 yrs", actually itc-
sra places him among _past_ scholars and gives us a brief sample of
his singing on http://www.itcsra.org/sra_story/sra_story_scholars/sra_story_scholars_past.html.
Not bad at all! Much better than some who have proclaimed themselves
"amazing" etc.

Surprising that the organizers never thought of letting r.m.i.c know
about his visit.
