I recently worked on a "22 Sruti Just Intonation tuner for Sitar and
Veena" for Windows XP.

It is being distributed as a Freeware for those who would like to use
it :

a. As an ear tuner, or

b. To practice different Shruti shades during vocal riyaz or

c. To tune the Sitar or Veena Frets to different Shruti-shades used in
various Ragas.

I will also post some background on the software:

1. This software implements 22 Sruti derived on the concept of "Just
Intonation".

2. I have implemented only "System 1" scheme of Just intonation for 22
Srutis- other schemes can easily be implemented in the future to see
which scheme is more appropriate to capture the different raga srutis.

3. I do not think that '22 Sruti theory' exactly captures in totality
the way Srutis are actually implemented in Dhrupad or Rudra Veena
performance- but nonetheless is a very useful for pedagogic purposes.

I ran into a french spreadsheet posted online that listed more than
one volumes of the album "La Flute De Pandit" by Pt. Hari Prasad
Chaurasia. The one I am familiar with is the one with Yaman but this

I am familiar with the vol.17 and 18 but haven't heard of the others.
I am told they were released by Sonodisc in the 80s. Does anyone have
any info on them. Are there any additional albums in this series
(curious due to the gaps in numbering)?

I was reasonably surprised to see this 'very rare' recording of Khan
sahab's Jog on youtube.
