"Thisisme Then"

Hearing some new Common single the other day reminded me
how much I like Com. For some reason I just haven't paid much
attention after "ODIWAMS." The Relativity retrospective
"Thisisme Then" shows an immense personal progress over the
course of just 3 albums.
From being almost openly misogynistic on all 5 tracks from the
debut to coming up with "Retrospect for Life" it's hard to think
of a rapper who went through a similar maturation process.

I wonder what a full career retrospective would look like.

lol...
This Guava eating thing cracks me up every time...

Nothing wrong with fruit, except that it makes Common a bougie, apparently.

agreed common is the only artist who seems to get better with each
album. those detractors on the top don't like him because he doesn't
rhyme about sneakers or rims. he actually make music with actual
substance and like you said from a mature prospective. and because he
does all of that people easily want to judge/ hate on him.

The description wouldn't scare me away per se. For the sake of
balance I think it's good to have some more mild-mannered
rappers around. The level of testosterone sometimes is
ridiculously high in rap.
