I will continue to spam the newsgroup with my musical stylings...
Matt actually played a part in the creation of this song. After I told
some tale of drunkeness, he referred to me as a hiphop Charles
Bukowski. I liked that and then someone I know IRL made a similar
comment.
The beat is by an Aussie producer from Canberra by the name of
Diabolik. It is awesome. It was originally supposed to be an
instrumental but when I heard it, I begged him to let me use it for
this song. Anyway, here it is:

LYRICS:
CHORUS
I'm the Rap Bukowski
Doubt me? What you know about me?
Other rappers livin large, I'm livin lousy
Street level, so many nights I chased the devil
Rap Bukowski, it's the dirty, nerdy rebel

I did what now?
Not feeling this, sorry. Second verse is kind of all over the
place flow-wise. You're wavering.
What are these people doing in the song? I feel if you
introduce characters in a song, keep them limited to one
or two, unless you're going for some déjà -vu type thing
in the vein of "Freaky Tales" or "Big Ole Butt."
Right now it's some undistinct evening you spend with
some some undistinct people. Where's the Bukowski
factor exactly?
I give you props for the first verse.

i started with ham on rye but factotum or post office would also be a
good start i think
yeah, many times...i watched a documentary on bukowski though, and he
said he hated it...the more footage i see of the real bukowski, i can
understand why...rourke was good if it was a fictional character but
he didn't really nail the real bukowski

I'd recommend Post Office as far as novels go.
As Ranger said, Bukowski himself didn't seem
particularly thrilled by the movie.
