Had the opportunity to see this on the big screen tonight. Harrowing.
The documentary affects me the way the documentary of Jim Jones
does... to see writhing humanity just dissolve into chaos and mayhem,
like some Hieronymus Bosch painting. Seeing the movie in theater is
especially effective, because you can't help but be lifted into a
bluesy rock and roll trance as the Stones stomped across the country,
calmly self-aware of how great they were at that time. But this makes
the crash all the more stunning.
I wasn't there, but it seems to me this really was the death of the
sixties. The last hurrah that was billed as a true gathering, drawing
the freaks and bikers from the Bay area and nationwide.... as it made
its descent to the sounds of Grace's appallingly thin appeals for
peace and love. And its not just the Angels, or the murder - it was
the whole thing... Watching "Sunshine Daydream" you see a bunch of
freaks enjoying a hot day, but in Gimme Shelter there was something
much more malevolent going on ....

WTF is it with these assclowns and "treasure"? Bush said something
very similar a few months back, IIRC...do these nitwits really believe
that there is actual treasure in the treasury, or is this Newspeak for
something else and I'm not brainwashed enough to make the logical
contortions required to buy what they're selling without understanding
it?
Treasure...fucksakes.

Does one exist online? It must and I could probably find it. But since
it must, someone here must know where it is and could possibly save my
lazy ass several minutes of cyber-wandering. Please.
What got me to wondering was listening this morning to "Venutian Lady"
by the late, great Paul Pena. Jerry plays pedal steel on this
recording, and quite nicely, too.

I have had my kindle for about 2 months now. Bought it with my tax rebate
check. Since then the price has gone down $50. I love my kindle. Although
new books take a little more time to come out, the amount of available
material is sufficent for a lifetime.
There are also web sites where you can download public domain books for
free.
With a 1 or 2 gig card, you can hold hundreds of books.
Although not perfect, even with my bad eyes it is an easy read.
Available are books, blogs, newspapers, and magazines.
I even set my screensaver to a picture of Jer.
I recommend the Kindle highly.
