It looks as if I no longer get to post to newsgroups, but -- just to
make sure -- I will post these new lyrics of mine (as a test) ...
An arithmetic teacher yesterday was arrested.
He was writing Arabic digits on the board --
Introducing, so the faculty has attested,
A foreign practice, Eastern and abhorred.
He'd infiltrated a weapon of math instruction
Into each trusting student's tender brain --
Dooming their innocent psyches to destruction,
A greater cultural threat than quiche lorraine!
CHORUS:
Give thanks for the day our leaders outlawed zero --
If they hadn't, just imagine where we'd be --
We might even have some kind of decimal money --
So join us in keeping America zero-free!

I certainly saw your post.
What tune is it to?]
If you ever can't get to post, I will be happy to relay messages for
you.
You might also try to investigate news.aioe.org
if you're willing to post no more than 10 messages a day.
If not, use Google Groups to look back for the flurry of
messages here mentioning other possibilities back when Time
Warner announced it would stop carrying newsgroups.

According to the e-mail Kate sent me, it's TTTO my "The Alternate World
Temperance Union."

Came through just fine Kate.
...and you'll probably get a whole bunch of suggestions for a
newsfeed.
Good luck!

Me, I use Motzarella.com through the mail/news function on SeaMonkey.
Motzarella told me which settings to use. If that sort of thing is a
pain to you, and if you have someone who sometimes helps with it, this
might be the time to spring for a pizza. I fumbled through it, but my
experiences don't seem to be universal. Oddly enough.

Even more than you want that, P. F.,
I want to see Disney (or anyone else) make a film for children
in which the *villainess* has
big blue eyes, soft half-parted rosebud lips, and silken waist-length
blonde hair.

Well, there's Bangladesh Dupree in the Girl Genius comic - definitely not blonde,
but very attractive, highly intelligent, and an extreme homicidal psychopath.
I'd like to see one where has a bold new solution to
this week's problem, and insists on trying it even though all the people with years
more experience tell him it can't possibly work - and it turns out that the people
with lots of experience were actually correct, and MOOM's bold new solution really
is crap just like they said all along.
