You just wait for Katharina to shake things up, dear. You'll be
amused to no end, no doubt.
Boringly sung and acted? You just wait for K to execute her inner-
city rap, gang-rape, fellatio concept for a future Tannhaeuser on the
Green Hill.
Just for you, dear. Just so you don't get bored on those hard
chairs. You just wait. All for you.

Dear friends, is it the "Paris" or "Dresden" version?

Its Dresden. I believe throughout. Many Bayreuth productions since
1954 have conflated different parts of the Paris version with Dresden,
generally to include the superb ballet music. Then they often return
to Dresden for the simpler music for Venus.

I don't think Bayreuth has done an "unadulterated" Paris TANNHäUSER
since 1930 & 1931 when Toscanini and Elmendorff were on the podium for
what was, by all accounts, a wonderful new production.
