Greetings,

I just wonder if this set is currently available?

I may also consider the Q Disc set, should I find a source. Is there
much repeated material b/w the two sets?

Thanks for any thoughts,

Stephen

  Copyright 50->95 again....

Hello all,

Thought I would forward it to you all...
The danger is, that through an amendment, it WILL be made retroactive.
(I can imagine a compromise like 70 years, but then retroactive could
be a typical result)

Anyone want's to emigrate to japan.... :)?

From: Sound Copyright

Many of you will have read in the last week that, as a result of
intense lobbying, the EU Commission disregarded the balance of
evidence and formally accepted the proposal to extend the duration of
copyright for sound recordings. Writing in the UK press Dave Rowntree,
the drummer from Blur, explained why this proposal would be damaging
for Europe's creators and consumers. He hasn't been alone in voicing
his concern:

Fortunately, the battle isn't lost. You can help us campaign for a
rational copyright policy in four ways.

  Verbier youth-- Bravo !

Author: Rugby
Date: Jul 22, 2008 21:43

www.medici.tv/#/performance/371/

A rare live performance of the Beethoven Triple Concerto by the
Verbier Youth Orchestra under Paavo Jarvi, with pianist Jonathan
Gilad, cellist Alisa Weilerstein, and violinist Mayoko Kamio. While
Kamio had some intonation and tone problems early on, my word what a
wonderful performance with a very supportive, even adulating
orchestra ! Gould wrong again. At least The Triple performs almost
better than it sounds. That these 3 could bring more to the music than
perhaps Beethoven did is a real testament to their talents,
Weilerstein adding to her "star" status after her stunning solo
recital with Gilad, himself proving to be an impeccable artist with
vision beyond his years. Not to be missed !

Has anyone had a chance to compare the sound on the recent BBC release of
Sanderling's fantastic Mahler 9 (featuring the BBC Philharmonic) with the
original release? Any improvement in the sound quality?
