Music on DVDs?

I wanted to experiment with burning some digital music onto DVDs thanks
to their capacity, but it seems neither Deep Burner nor Windows Media Player
will recognize a DVD when you put it into your burner. Can anyone give me
some advice? Thanks.

I don't believe you can get wav to go. I have seen rumors that there's
a way to get wav files converted to DVD-PCM and onto a DVD for
playback in a DVD player - but it's still just a rumor to me.

There are DVD-audio discs, but I don't know what format they are. I assume PCM.

A couple of years ago I had a lot of success with a program called
Audio DVD Creator from Goland. It allowed one to put more than 6 hours
of wav files onto a single DVD (e.g. all the Beethoven symphonies...

There is an excellent free program available for both PCs and macs
called "DVD Audio file". The program creates an ISO file from 24-
bit .wav or .flac files that may subsequently be burned using any
software that burns DVDs. The end result is a DVD-Audio disc that can
be played with any standalone DVD player. I've used it a number of
times with phenomenal results.

to DVD plus link to PC version.

Yes, I am afraid I misspoke that it DVD-Audio discs may be played with
any DVD player. I should have said "any DVD player that is capable of
playing DVD-Audio." There are many players that do this now, most of
them very inexpensive. However, audio DVD discs (as opposed to DVD-
Audio) produced by a program such as Apollo Audio DVD Creator that
someone mentioned in an earlier posting, may indeed be played on ANY
DVD player. It is an excellent program and very useful for burning as
much music as a DVD can hold.
