Over the last couple of years, EMI has re-released some of its
budget boxes with new cover art (Cziffra's Chopin, Tipo's Bach,
Cluytens' Beethoven etc). All these were originally released
in bulky jewel box packaging with a minimal booklet. Are the
new releases the same in terms of packaging AND remastering
except the cover art? I could check for myself if only the local
CD stores carried any of these items :-(
Thanks in advance.

On a recent EMI CD purchase there is a statement that texts and translations
are available on the EMI web site. Since the item in question was from
Berkshire, and is apparently no longer in the EMI catalog, I'm not at all
optimistic. But I'm curious if the service noted still exists in any
form. Does anyone know? (There was nothing obvious linked from the EMI
classical web site.) Thanks.

Clinton and McWarmonger hand you a bone (federal gas tax holiday).
While you are chewing that bone, they hit you over the head with the
newspaper(their voting record for umpteen years in the Senate which
has kept us beholden to Arab oil and the terrorists at Exxon/Mobil
etc.).
YOU vote for them every November and THEY pick up MY shit whenever I
please to poop. Who is the dog?
Shaemus
p.s. Who was President when Exxon and Mobil were allowed to merge?

The NY Times reported today Henry Brant's death. I have a few
recordings of his; tonight I'll play Columbia ML 4956: Signs and
Alarms (1953) - premiered by Stokowski and Galaxy 2 (both under the
direction of the composer). In Memoriam. Hauser
